Dawn Spalding, Surgical Services, shared this story about Mary Lynch

Mary Lynch, Sterile Room Tech, while having lunch in the Cafe spotted a lady sitting on the bench outside of the Café looking upset. Mary sat down beside her to ask was there anything she could do to help, the lady responded that her husband was a patient in ICU and he was not doing well. Her husband is a truck driver and they were not from the area. She was here at the hospital with no money, no place to stay, and no clean clothes. She told Mary that she had been staying in the ICU waiting area for a few days. Mary was really touched by this woman's devotion to her husband and when she returned to the department asked if there was anything we could do to help this lady. Not knowing exactly what to do, we called Cathy Null explained the story to her and she said that she would take good care of this patient's family member. The next day Mary went to ICU to visit again with the lady she met in the Café, the lady was so overwhelmed by the caring and thoughtfulness of the employees of this hospital, she stated that she has never been to a place with such thoughtful and caring people. All it took was just a minute ....Mary really made a difference.
